This is a simple boot-room bench I built many years ago and which has seen daily use with little care. It has one stain from a pot of tulips but otherwise it is as good as new. When I look at it, I remember the tree it came from and which was felled after a bad storm.

Here, Morse code provides decorative detail and a message about its ownership and provenance. The through-tenons speak of solidity and honest craft work. When this is still going strong in 100 years, its morse message will continue to provide a tangible link to its modest origin.
